Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape

Brief description

Lots of sites make up this WHS, including ruined mines perched precariously on clifftops, and restored mine engines which give a hint of the industry which went on. In the early 19th century, the region produced 2/3 of the world’s supply of copper, and the miners also extracted tin.

We’ve visited a couple of times, this mine engine is near Redruth
